Aurora Aksnes, born June 15th, 1996 in Stavanger and is known professionally as Aurora sometimes stylized in uppercase as AURORA is an Norwegian musician and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released by the record label Decca Records in May 2015 getting great reviews by music journalists and media. The artist has already released two top-of-the-line covers Half the World Away by the group Oasis to promote a Christmas ad from John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. Katy Perry's praise for the song Runaway in a blog post brought the singer additional recognition. Celebrate her birthday. Aurora Aksnes earliest musical memory is that of locating a piano in her attic and becoming enthralled by the sounds it would create. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged Aurora to study music. Not for an income or to pursue a hobby, but rather as a way to improve. Therefore, she created writing her own songs. She credits renowned composers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan as inspirations, and also a love for Bjork's style. The singer decided to perform her music in public when her mother said it could aid people in not gain fame through the work she does, but to help everyone else realize the importance of their work and how they can affect the world. Her first piano lesson was when she was only six and began to write music when she was nine. She didn't tell her family about her musical journey until she was fourteen. Aurora is not something she set out to achieve. She claims that she enjoys composing songs. Music is for her the most effective way to experience everything.
